DaySit

Granny will occasionally DaySit for visitors to the Dubbo area who require a few hours pet free. This is an individualised, bespoke pet care service in a quiet, friendly environment, catering for one family at a time.

DAYSIT IS OPEN BETWEEN THE COOLER MONTHS OF APRIL AND SEPTEMBER  (March & October subject to change based on maximum daytime temperature).

NOTE - Pets will be safely cared for by a mature woman in a suburban house yard for a short duration. The day will be spent sharing special company with your pet both indoors and outdoors. Your doggy will be with Granny at all times.

ON ARRIVAL - it is important not to rush the book-in process. Forms need to be filled in, boundaries need approval, and your pet needs time to acclimatise with Granny before you leave. Some pets may need anxiety medication administered before arrival to enable a successful DaySit. Please bring along your fur baby's favourite comforter or toy.

TERMS - The cost for personalised pet sitting is $10 per hour. Care is booked by the day (Extended) or half day (Basic). Extended care is between one and seven hours. Basic care is between one and four hours. Your pet/s will be the only DaySit on Grannys premises at any one time.

TYPE OF CARE - DaySit is open at 8.30 am daily and offers Basic and Extended care as shown in the table below. Dogs should be under 10kg. Granny is not suited to puppies or very nervous dogs.

JUST TO BE SAFE
If you know that your dog has the ability to scale a suburban fence Granny requests that you seek alternative accommodation or arrange a crate/tether. Tiny dogs, such as Chihuahua's and mini-Foxies, require tethering for their own protection and will be kept close to Granny at all times.

HIGHLY NERVOUS & ANXIOUS DOGS
Most canines experience a small amount of separation anxiety, while others are over the top. Mental stimulation is known to help relieve a dog’s anxiety and relax their heightened activity. If your dog is highly anxious Granny requests that you seek alternative accommodation at a facility that can offer this type of mental diversion. Dogs of this temperament are generally not suited to quiet time spent with Granny, the possibility of which, could exacerbate their issue, resulting in an early collection request.

WHY IS DAYSIT CLOSED DURING THE SUMMER?
It is typical canine behaviour for a dog to watch for the return of its human family. This means that your fur baby will be keeping eyes and ears on Granny's garden gate at all times. Unnecessary anxiety would be created if they were to be constrained in a cool air-conditioned environment away from their focal point. It is far better for your pet, and Granny, to share time together during the cooler part of the year, when air-conditioning is not as fundamentally important as a cosy blanket in the sun.
